Our Day

Reading GirlThe children begin their day by settling down at one of the activity tables.  They hang their special name-tags on the tree and sing a “hello song” together. We will explain to the children what they are to do that day, what they will learn. Then they may do some painting, make a Lego model, play in the home corner or play with sand or water. They are also encouraged to take part in more structured activities such as pencil skills or cookery.

On fine days they play outside in the garden where bikes and other outdoor toys are available.  The garden was redesigned in 2001 and has a new covered section and an area of child-friendly ‘soft’ surfacing underfoot.

Around mid-morning they all sit down together for a drink and snack such as toast or a biscuit.  Just before 12 the children gather together to sing a “goodbye song”.  They are then collected by parents or guardians and are often proudly clutching something that they have made to take home
